Walshy Fire of Major Lazer teamed up with reggae artist Kabaka Pyramid for a mixtape entitled 'Accurate'. Walshy supplied a varied selection of hip hop beats and reggae riddims for Kabaka to spit fire on. Some of Kabaka's early releases were hip hop records he made when studying in Florida while the reggae side came to fruition upon his return to Jamaica.
As a result, neither sound of out Kabaka's comfort zone as displayed on "Kabaka vs. Pyramid". Set upon '90s hip hop classic beat "Gimme The Loot" from Notorious BIG's debut album, Ready To Die, Kabaka verbally battles himself, trading disses and places as the rapper and deejay side of him go toe-to-toe. Kabaka: "It's only cos of the revival they feel you" vs "Rap died a long time ago, you never listen Nas?" Pyramid. You can watch the video here".
Sitting at just under an hour, the lyricist explores themes such as politics, relationships and rebellion, while proving his lyrical prowess throughout. 'Accurate' boasts features from fellow Jamaicans Protoje, Hempress Sativa, (fellow Bebble Rocker) Koro Fyah, Dre Island and Chronixx as well as Raekwon from the world famous Wu-Tang Clan.
